our story (so far)

Inspired by the writings of W.E.B. DuBois and the experiences of black Harvard students and alumni, Soul Session Sundays was born in February 2019.

The Soul Session Sundays curriculum was designed based on insights from 30 interviews and discussions with incoming students, current students, and alumni. It covers topics that include mental health, belonging, mentorships, and taking advantage of Harvard resources.

During Spring 2019, SSS brought together around 10-15 black students each week from across Harvard for brunch, music, and conversation in Adams House. Through these conversations, we helped each other other critically reflect on our experiences here. We want to make sure we’re not just surviving at Harvard, but thriving.

SSS brunch involves venturing out to other spaces on campus, like the Harvard Art Museums or the Bok Center for Teaching and Learning;
